Moto/EDACS, 900MHz/VHF/UHF trunking, trunk and scan at the same time, 100 IDs per bank, 10 ID lists; 100 per bank, priority IDs, Motorola status bits, computer software/control, weather scan, but the battery pack is still there. There have been 3 firmware versions of the radio produced. Version 1.17 came out in early 2000, which had the crazy 5 second delay between trunking banks, version 1.19 came out in the first half of 2000, which fixed the delay to less than 1 second, and version 1.04 which started coming out in late 2000. | The first LTR
(handheld) scanner. You can store up to 100 custom
searches but no service search,
'Tune' search, has some Military starting at 380 MHz, weather alert/priority, alpha tags,
CTCSS/DCS, adjustable steps in
search mode, VHF/UHF trunking, per channel or global attenuation, and the
auto LTR LCN programming is also nice. To bad it's
so poky slow scanning (but trunks just as fast as my
Pro-95 with no conventional channels programmed), has
only 1 scan list per bank, no EDACS AFS ID display, and
has 'open' and 'closed' modes. With the
freeware you can adjust the scan and
ID delays. The only trunking scanner that needs 6
batteries. There are 3 firmware versions of the Pro-92. The first, 1.00, introduced in 1999 as the Pro-92, has sub-audible tone Motorola trunking that had the tendency to loose active Motorola transmissions. The second, 3.25, introduced in mid 2000 as the 92A, fixed that with control-channel trunking. And the third, 3.28, introduced in late 2000 as the 92B, is essentially the same as the 92A with minor SAME weather alert improvements. (right-click/'Back' to return) |

| Like 2 radios in 1 with 1000 channels but you can only scan 500 channels at a time by switching to 'group A' or 'group B', 10 banks in each group. Scans at 50 channels/sec, 5 ID lists; 50 per bank, 10 monitor memories, power-on resume, status bit ignore/on, priority IDs, priority plus IDs, weather alert, 'Direct search, and only 1 limit search. The Pro-94 came out in Dec. 1999 and has the 5 second delay between trunking banks. The Pro-94A came out around April of 2000 and can trunk and scan at the same time (with a 1 second delay between trunking banks), has an auto backlight feature, and has the EDACS partial talkgroup ID feature (trunk and program). | Sort of a combination of the BCD396XT and the HP-1. he display is much bigger to show more information but some of the characters actually got smaller. Only one color now; sort of a dull, bluish white. Support for P25 Phase II and P25 X-2 TDMA, recording, playback, and instant replay for scan, search, Close Call, and Tone-Out modes are new. Batteries are required for the recording and replay features to work. Quick keys for Favorites Lists, Systems, Sites, and Departments. Like the HP-1/2, just enter your zip/postal code, select your service types, and the scanner will load the channels for you with a range setting to filter distance. You can tag any channel, system, site, etc. with up to 64 characters (though not all viewable in the display). Number tags for Favorites Lists are also included. Priority DND, first appearing in the BC125AT, is now included. Encrypted IDs are now muted when received too. A printed manual, a per channel delay setting, the ability to program a location so you don't need to use a GPS for location based scanning, SD card memory for limitless channels, a 'Service Types' selection option, and the scan/search button is gone. The alert LED has replaced the display color selection for alerts.. Everything is now "Avoided" like the HP-1 instead of locked-out. Discovery and Analyze modes have also been brought over from the HP-1. There is no adjustment for AGC, just on or off. Copy/paste channel is gone. The non-radio location-based GPS features, PIO and Dangerous Road/Dangerous Crossing, have been removed as well as Review Location and GPS Display modes. Priority Plus, EDACS SCAT System support, the P25 LP filter, cloning, the trunking activity indicators, auto search and store (in favor of Discovery Modes), and the Service Searches have been removed. CC-Only, quick keys, startup keys, and number tags for the custom searches are gone. Close Call Autostore, override, and tone/code search have been removed. Function lock is also gone. The km/m GPS option has been removed probably because the RR database (included) is use for location information and uses "miles". You can't charge the batteries with the radio on anymore. Private Systems and Key-Safe mode have disappeared as well. Close Call Only and Fire Tone-Out can now be assigned to a search quick key. (right-click/'Back' to return) |

Quick keys for Favorites Lists, Systems, Sites, and Departments. Like the HP-1/2, just enter your zip/postal code, select your service types, and the scanner will load the channels for you with a range setting to filter distance. You can tag any channel, system, site, etc. with up to 64 characters (though not all viewable in the display). Number tags for Favorites Lists are also included. Priority DND, first appearing in the BC125AT, is now included. Encrypted IDs are now muted when received too. A printed manual, a per channel delay setting, the ability to program a location so you don't need to use a GPS for location based scanning, SD card memory for limitless channels, a 'Service Types' selection option, . The SQ/Vol knobs have been reversed with the scroll knob and the scan/search button is gone. The alert LED is a now a glowing ring around the scroll/function knob and has replaced the display color selection for alerts.. Everything is now "Avoided" like the HP-1 instead of locked-out. Discovery and Analyze modes have also been brought over from the HP-1. There is no adjustment for AGC, just on or off. Copy/paste channel is gone. The km/m GPS option has been removed probably because the RR database (included) is use for location information and uses "miles". Private Systems and Key-Safe mode have disappeared as well. | While trunk scanning with priority on, HOLD on an ID to monitor it. The Pro-94s will monitor the selected ID and trunkscan just the priority IDs in the bank.
